Dr. Williams graduated from Logan College of Chiropractic and has been in practice since October 2013. He also holds a license as a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) and is a Certified Chiropractic Extremities Practitioner (CCEP)—one of approximately 1000 worldwide.
Diversified, Gonstead, Logan Basic and Myofascial Release are the main techniques used in his practice. Dr. Williams believes in using manual adjustments to get the proper movement needed while treating patients. He also utilizes a wide range of therapies in conjunction with adjusting to expedite the healing process including electrical stimulation, ultrasound, traction and laser. Dr. Williams also uses digital x ray technology for diagnostic purposes.
Dr. Williams decided to become a chiropractor during his last year at Wingate University. He noticed that the athletic trainers were only allowed to perform certain methods in treating athletes before a doctor referral was required. He wanted to be able to see care all the way through and make the decisions, along with the patient, for treatment/care that was needed. While exploring different health careers, he looked back on his own sports career and recognized that chiropractic care has been the most successful in treating his sports injuries. He then made the decision that chiropractic was the best choice for his career.
Prior to attending chiropractic college, Dr. Williams served as an Athletic Trainer for most all age groups in various levels of competition. He completed an internship with a professional hockey team, played football at Wingate University, 3-sport athlete in high school, member of Phi Epsilon Kappa at Wingate, co-founder and former president of Logan Highland Athletics Club, and selected as St. Louis Scottish Games Athlete of the Year in 2011. He currently attends to all Lenoir-Rhyne University athletes as the team chiropractor.
Hunting and sports of all types generate an interest with Dr. Williams, especially the Scottish Highland Games. He has participated in and won several awards with the Games. Dr. Williams also volunteers his time as a team physician, athletic trainer and coach for the Hickory Hawks, and independent high school aged Christian football program.
